It’s all a question of story. We are in trouble just now because we do not have a good story. We are in between stories. The old story, the account of how the world came to be and how we fit into it, is no longer effective. Yet we have not learned the new story.

Mission and Vision

Ecology of Awakening is dedicated to supporting the sustained and embodied shift necessary to create resilient and thriving communities for future generations. We believe if we are to create a world we know is possible – where all beings have the possibility of co-existing peacefully in balance with a thriving Earth – it is essential that we facilitate a collective shift in consciousness: out of the predominant story of separation and into a lived experience of being an inherent part of an evolving and intelligent universe. To facilitate this shift, we offer programs that employ a unique framework that weaves together cosmology, deep ecology and living systems, somatic resiliency work and other time-tested processes that usher us towards dissolving our borders and discovering our deepest belonging—to ourselves, to each other, to the Earth and to the greater mystery.

We offer open enrollment programs for individuals, tailored programs for groups and organizations, and trainings for leaders and educators so that participants can integrate core EOA components into the essential work they are doing in the world. Our programs are deeply inclusive, facilitating transformation for those who hold religious as well as secular views, as the work is about what it is to be fully human, no matter our beliefs. All of our programs provide the strong container of an intimate village, set within a variety of spectacular California ecosystems, with facilitators being highly trained in their specific fields. By design, groups sizes are small to promote optimum engagement between guides and participants in support of enduring change. Connection with the land and active facilitation from the guides and the village community create a vibrant ecology that supports participants in moving beyond an intellectual understanding, to the realization and sustained embodiment of what it is to act in alignment with life, community, and equity for all beings.
