Awakening Immersion

All of the issues that afflict and oppress us, personally and collectively, arise from a mistaken yet persistent belief that we are separate from the dynamic, self-organizing intelligence of the whole. As things "heat up" in the outer world, literally and figuratively, the depth of our ability to ‘awaken’ to our deepest identity and place amidst the whole, may contribute more than we know to the healing of our culture's massive and increasingly lethal dissociation from Earth.

On this Immersion, Kerry Brady, Ecology of Awakening director, joins together with Anita Doyle, archetypal-transpersonal counselor and educator, with assistance from Michael Stjernholm to support the embodied shift, out of what is conditioned and separate, into what is ever-evolving and connected with all life. Through mutually reflective encounters with the larger earth community, with our own rich interiors and with each other, we will create a vibrant ecology that supports participants to move beyond an intellectual understanding of awakening to the realization and embodiment of what it is to align with life, inwardly and outwardly.

For five days we live on the land in the rolling coastal hills of Occidental, CA in a spectacular ecosystem is marked by active waterfalls, coastal prairie meadows, old-growth fir and oak woodlands that dwell in serpentine soils. We will draw from the new sciences, nature-based processes, listening meditation, inner and outer tracking, dream-work, somatic resiliency work, council, ceremony and other time-tested processes that usher us towards dissolving our borders and discovering our deepest belonging. Through the impassioned lens of biologist and naturalist Brock Dolman, we will deepen into what it is to become more 'life literate' by immersing ourselves in the micro and macro perspective of our place within the larger Earth community.

In opening to all that seeks to awaken us, we learn to listen and respond to the way life evokes us and open to the mysterious and fertile meeting ground where our own creativity and the larger unfolding meet. In this fertile space, we come to discover our simultaneous undivided unity with existence as well as the unique expression that seeks to realize itself through each of us for the good of the whole.
